Asheboro, NC - The Randolph Arts Guild (RAG) announces a call to artists for “East Meets West”.  For this show artists who are alumni from Appalachian State University and East Carolina University are asked to submit their work for consideration. Selected works will be displayed at the Randolph Arts Guild’s Sara Smith Self Gallery at 123 Sunset Ave. in downtown Asheboro, NC during the month of September, 2015. Artists must submit their work online at www.RandolphArtsGuild.com. The deadline to submit entries is July 31st, 2015. The fee is $5 per entry (limit to three per artist.)

The fine arts programs at Appalachian State and East Carolina Universities have made a remarkable impact on the arts in North Carolina and beyond. In September, Pirates and Mountaineers will exhibit side by side in the Sara Smith Self Gallery of the Randolph Arts Guild in a show titled “East Meets West”. The Randolph Arts Guild located in the center of the state will serve as a meeting ground for work of select art alumni from ASU and ECU.

The Juror for “East Meets West”, Gary Nemcosky will select work that represents the best from both schools. Gary is uniquely qualified as he received his MFA from ECU and is currently a professor of Painting at ASU.

This exhibition is open to Alumni from ASU and ECU. If selected, artists must be able to deliver their work to the Randolph Arts Guild, located at 123 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC 27203 by August 25th.

Artists may visit www.RandolphArtsGuild.com for complete details.
