Seagrove, the Pottery Capital of the U.S. presents the Seventh Annual “Cousins in Clay” Event

ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA – Seagrove potters, Bruce Gholson and Samantha Henneke of Bulldog Pottery will host their seventh annual  “Cousins in Clay" event on May 30 & 31, 2015. This popular annual pottery show features a wide spectrum of ceramics ranging from traditional to contemporary designs, from decorative to functional ware.

 

Guest potters’ will include North Carolina potter, Michael Kline; Bill Brouillard, Cleveland, Ohio; Adam Field, Helena, Montana; and New York potters, Doug Peltzman and Henry Crissman. Field and Peltzman will present a pottery demonstration on Saturday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm; Brouillard will present on Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. In his first visit to North Carolina, Crissman will set up and fire his mobile mobile Anagama wood-fueled kiln, to be unloaded on Saturday.

 

Seagrove is home to nearly 100 pottery shops and galleries where visitors will find everything from traditional tableware to folk and collectible art pieces and historical reproductions; and is located just 15 minutes south of Asheboro, North Carolina. The area is served by two bed and breakfast inns in the town of Seagrove, and five hotels in nearby Asheboro.
