Have you heard of the Uwharrie Trail? At 40 miles, it is the longest single-track footpath in central North Carolina. Three Rivers Land Trust and other conservation partners have been working for the past 26 years to reconnect this trail, and thanks to these efforts it can now be hiked in its 40-mile entirety. Join us for an awesome backpacking trip through some of the oldest mountains in the world! The thru hike will go from south to north, beginning at Wood Run Trailhead on Highway 24/27, and ending at Talbott’s Branch trailhead on Tot Hill Farm Road. • The hike is four approximately 10-mile days with camping at established camps: Yates Place, Jumpin’ Off Rock, and Walkers Creek Trailhead. • Price --$150 This includes filtered water, snacks, clean camp amenities, a large cookout the last night, a commemorative tee shirt, and a one-year membership to Three Rivers Land Trust. Your registration fee makes conservation and trails like this possible.
