Old Pottery Identification Day is a fun we have hosted for several years. The Owens family and Steve Compton, noted NC pottery scholar and author, will be on hand to identify and discuss old pots on this day. If you have old pieces of NC pottery (you may bring up to 4) that you’d like to learn more about, bring them to Jugtown, then stay to see what others bring – we always have several unusual pieces show up! We will have a good selection of books and publications about NC pottery available for this event. Identification times: 10:00-12:00 & 1:00-3:00 This fun day coincides with new pieces that will be out of the wood kiln. We will be firing the historic Groundhog kiln and new pots will be in the Sales Cabin for this event as well. We will have new pieces in Salt Glaze, Frogskin, Ash Glazes as well as several copper glazes. Each year this is a fun event and we look forward to seeing everyone!
