Celebrate 2023 as the Year of the Trail in NC! Please join us for this free, no frills, come as you are ''Community Walk'' hosted by Wilder Uwharrie Trail Running. Children and adults of all ages within our community are encouraged and welcome to attend. The first 0.20 miles of Purgatory Trail is handicapped accessible and stroller friendly.

Come experience a ''wilder'' Uwharrie and meet new friends as you hit the trails, feel a sense of community, and have fun. The Purgatory Trail trailhead is located at the north end of the North America parking lot of the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, NC! Purgatory Mountain is a part of the Uwharrie Mountain range!
