Details

Dr. Adrienne Israel, Guilford College Professor Emerita of History, will present “Quakers and the Underground Railroad in Piedmont, North Carolina.” Dr. Israel’s research focuses on the relationship of free Blacks and members of the Society of Friends who were part of the Underground Railroad.

Dr. Israel retired from Guilford College after 37 years of service which included 13 years as Vice President and Academic Dean. She received her Phd from Johns Hopkins after earning undergraduate and master’s degrees from Howard University.
