North Carolina Zoo

The North Carolina Zoo delivers fun for family and friends from exciting animal encounters to enchanting outdoor art and is considered an International leader in animal conservation. Situated near the scenic Uwharrie Mountains, the North Carolina Zoo is the world's largest zoo. Visitors can get up close and personal with elephants, rhinos, ostriches, and more on the magnificent 100-foot immersion walkway at the Watani Grassland Reserve, or by jumping on board a ZooFari vehicle for an exclusive tour of this 40-acre habitat. Families can also enjoy hiking trails, an adventurous Air Hike ropes and obstacles course, chill out at the Rocky Coast and take in the cool wonders of arctic polar bears, or check out the view from above at the Acacia Station Giraffe Deck.
