Posted on 06/17/14

Asheboro, NC— More than 30 species of plants are on sale for less than $10 at this year’s North Carolina Zoo plant sale.

The plant sale is on June 21st, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and June 22nd, 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the Africa region parking lot. Some of the plant species include: perennials, grasses, succulents, bananas and herbs.

Everything on sale was grown and nurtured by the N.C. Zoo’s experienced horticulture staff. The plant sale is a great opportunity for people who admire the zoo’s beautiful horticulture collection to own a piece of it at a bargain.

Check here for a list of plants and prices or visit the zoo’s website www.nczoo.org. Transactions at the sale can only be made with cash and checks.

The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, John E. Skvarla, III, Secretary; Pat McCrory, Governor.
