Claws and Jaws Celebration Saturday at the North Carolina Zoo

ASHEBORO, NC – The North Carolina Zoo will host a “Claws and Jaws” celebration this Saturday, August 6. The special event will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will feature entertainment, keeper talks and all sorts of fun for the entire family.

Musician Larry Davis will perform in the North America Plaza from 10 a.m. until noon while Abe Reid will perform from noon until 2 p.m. There will also be face painting in the same venue throughout the event.

The Lion exhibit will feature temporary tattoos and lion biofacts, a lion keeper chat from 1 until 1:30 and a paper mache animal enrichment at 1:30 p.m.

Cypress Swamp will feature crafts, temporary tattoos and biofacts as well as an alligator feeding at 10 a.m. and cougar enrichment at 1:15 p.m.

The Streamside exhibit will have bobcat and otter crafts as well as biofacts with a bobcat enrichment at 10 a.m. and an otter feeding at noon.

The Deserts of the World exhibit will feature biofacts and an ocelot keeper talk at 11 a. m.
