NC Zoo Begins Winter Operating Hours

Asheboro, NC — The North Carolina Zoo began winter operating hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on Monday, November 4.  These hours will remain in effect through March 31, 2014, when summer hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily will resume.

The park’s Africa entrance and parking lot are also closed for the winter season as well as the parking shuttle service. Visitors can still view all the Africa and North America exhibits by entering through the North America entrance.

In addition to the change in hours, the Acacia Station giraffe feeding deck, the Endangered Species Carousel, the 4D theater and the Dinosaurs exhibit have all closed for the season.

 The zoo is located on Zoo Parkway (N.C. 159), six miles southeast of Asheboro off U.S. 64 and U.S. 220. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens 62-and-older and $8 for children 2-12.
