Claws and Jaws Celebration Saturday at the North Carolina Zoo

ASHEBORO, NC - The North Carolina Zoo will host a “Claws and Jaws” celebration this Saturday, August 5. Sink your teeth into this gripping special event that will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will feature educational facts, keeper talks and all sorts of fun for the entire family.

Learn why lions are such great hunters while you watch our lions tackle a paper mache prey animal at 1:30 pm. Kids can get a special temporary tattoo and can check out the cool biofact table at the Lion overlook.

Cypress Swamp will feature a craft activity, temporary tattoos, stickers, and bio facts.  Guests can witness the powerful jaws of the alligator with a feeding at 10:30 a.m. and see how cougars would pounce in the wild with enrichment prey at 11:30 a.m.

Guests strolling through the Streamside habitat will have the opportunity to see otters being fed and learn about what they eat with a keeper talk at 11 a.m.  There will also be a craft activity and biofacts for further education and fun.
