The Randolph Arts Guild presents Dick Hines shares his woodworking knowledge and skills at the Randolph Arts Guild.

Asheboro, NC - The Randolph Arts Guild will host the return of local favorite woodworker, Dick Hines for a lecture on basic woodworking.  Dick will conduct an 'overview' styled lecture including wood identification, sourcing, characteristics, usage in art, and general discussion.  It is the intent of this event to also inspire attendees to share what other wood projects they might enjoy so that Dick may set up additional class opportunities.

The free lecture begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 in the Sara Smith Self Gallery located at the Randolph Arts Guild, 123 Sunset Avenue in downtown Asheboro.  For more information on this event contact the guild at (336) 629-0399.

Bio:  Dick Hines is known around these parts for his good wood.  Many of his projects have been featured in the Morings Gift Shop, as well as numerous charity auctions around the Randolph County area.  He fabricates all sorts of children's toys and curious furniture pieces.  Hines started refinishing wood at age 12 and continues to do so as he is currently several years deep into his retirement.  Dick knows much about grain, refinishing, and of course building with wood.
