The Randolph Arts Guild Presents "Clay Bird" Class with NC Potter, Brooke Avery

The Randolph Arts Guild Presents Clay Bird Project (bisque fire)

Asheboro, NC - The Randolph Arts Guild offers a simple Clay Bird Pottery Project for youth ages 7 through 14 with N.C. potter, Brooke Avery.  Learn about hand building clay, make a bird, and then add feathery embellishments to it.  The top of the bird form will remain open, so you can drink out of it, store pencils, or even place a little plant in it.  All materials are provided.  This class meets on Saturdays: March 21 and 28 from 11 a.m. -- 1:30 p.m. at the Randolph Arts Guild located at 123 Sunset Avenue in downtown Asheboro.   Payment and registration are required for enrollment.  The enrollment deadline is Thursday, March 12.  $50 for R.A.G. members, $55 for non-members.  For more information contact the Randolph Arts Guild at (336) 629-0399.

Bio: Brooke Avery is a ceramic artist and pottery instructor who grew up grew up and currently resides in Trinity, NC.  She graduated in 2008 from UNCG with a B.F.A. in Design.  Brooke teaches pottery classes at the Randolph Arts Guild and is currently a working studio artist there.  Her ceramic work can be found in Greensboro at the Center for Visual Arts and in Asheboro at Morings Fine Crafts and Brightside Gallery.  Brooke is also the 2014 Chug & Chunk Womens Triathlon Champion.
